I'm doing a paper on ethnic conflicts and I'm supposed to briefly describe whats going on in Darfur.

I've searched around and gotten confused.

***What are the causes of the current conflic in Darfur? Please make it simple to understand.

The causes for this conflict is inability of traditional systems meaning the traditional goverment bodies to provide land and water resources to the people.

Also when there is a fight breaking out,there is no mediation or there isn't a body which soothes both sides.Also there is
drastic ecological changes like famine in that place which is taken advantage of bu unscrupulous politicians.

In one word --- CONTROL. The various sides of the conflict are all viing for control of Darfur. That simple.
