Oh, yeah, that's actually not an unusual thing, particulary for celebrities who are older. John Wayne's real name was Marion. Judy Garland's real name was Frances Gumm. Cher is actually Cherilynn. I think (I don't know) that Neil Simon, Elton John, and Woody Allen all have different names on their birth certificates, too. Not even Gene Simmons can escape the Name Game!
Just FYI, Madonna actually IS Madonna's real name. But you're right -- her last name is Ciccone. (She has a couple of middle names, Veronica Louise, I think.)

Actually, Madonna is her real first name. She just uses her first name only for the stage. Louise is her middle name and Ciccone is her last name. However, Elton John's real name was Reginald Kenneth Dwight. Bob Dylan's name was Robert Allen Zimmerman. Bono's (from U2) real name was Paul Hewson. Sting's (former lead singer of The Police) real name is Gordon Matthew Sumner. Hope that helps a bit.
