With so many fantastic series out there, it can be difficult to decide! However, I hope that you check out some of the ones that I give you, as well as some of the fantastic series that others have mentioned (such as Death Note)!

Hellsing and Hellsing Ultimate are exceptionally good, about a vampire by the name of Alucard, his master Integra, and his apprentice/slave Seras, a virgin cop- tuned- vampire. there are manry other dynamic characters as well, and with the stunning graphics and blazing action, it has rightfully gained popularity and acclaim. With that said, Trinity Blood also offers dazzling graphics and an alluring plot (if youever get the opportunity, check out the artbook, it's beyond words). If you want something that isn't vampire- based, check out Gunslinger Girl! Gunslinger girl is a series about young girls that have had their bodies altered in order to become the perfect, gun- toting asassins.

If it's mecha, space, or sci fi that you are looking for, then check out Eureka 7, Stellvia of the Universe, Goddanar (which has a lot of fanservice and comedy), and for a bit of old school, Macross 7. Also, Ergo Proxy would be great to check out as well. Eureka Seven involves trappar wave surfing and dismantling military plots; Stellvia is a cute, yet engaging story of a girl that enters a space academy in a post apocalyptic world. Goddanar you'd just have to see for yourself; it's a hilarious mecha- love triangle- fanservice filled soap opera, and Macross 7 is a classic Mecha tale involving inter- planetary war and fantastic battle scenes (by the way, Macross7 is also known in the U.S. as Robotech)!

As for Romance and Comedy, I can offer these titles: Kare Kano, which is a tale of two model high school students that fall in love with one another, and the trials that thier relationship goes through; Kodocha (Kodomo no Omocha) a hilarious series about a child star, her life and her budding romance; and the Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi, which is a very comedic tale of cultish proportions. All I can say is: Join the SOS Brigade!

Finally, my favorite two series at the moment. They happen to be shoujo in nature, but at the same time they both have storys that reach far beyond it. the first is Kaleido Star, which in essence is what you would get if you animated Cirque du Soleil (the amazing Frnch- based Circus), and added a personal touch. The story is comedic, and inspiring, with beautiful, unique graphics. The other series may be my favorite of all, and had gained critical acclaim and an ever increasing loyal fanbase: Princess Tutu. The worst thing it has going for it is its name; however, the series is absolutely beautiful, from the beautiful scenery that looks almost like watercolors, the unique plot that grabs and will not go, to the amazing character development and the incorporation of timeless ballets, operas, fairy tales, and plays, with the musical score to match. Princess Tutu, in short, is probably one of the best anime (and sometimes overlooked) in existance. This series is not for girls alone, and can be enjoyed by many ages (though with the darker themes it may be better if you are over 14). If you can please check it out!

And that's my spiel! Sorry it's so long, but I didn't want to just give you names without an idea of what each series was about. I wish you the best of luck in finding some shows that you like!

DNAngel is a great series!

and if you like a series that is alot of suspence and 'what happens next', then check out a series called 'Death Note'. Interesting story even though the plot is a little hard to get first. The series is a little dark, so i dnt reccomend it for people who are looking for a happy anime series.
i only watch death note because i LOVE suspence, NOT cause i believe in it.
