I had an ultrasound on Friday. My doctor called me today and said that there was a "tiny tiny tiny amount of blood in the gestational sac" (i think thats how you spell it) anyways she is not an OBGYN and said that she had called to make sure i had an appt. with an OBGYN which I do on the 26th 3 weeks from now. She didn't advise me to get a sooner appt. nor did she say it was an emergency. This is my first pregnancy and I am very scared...has anyone heard of this before...or had it? She said she thinks it's from implimentation. I am in my 8th week of pregnancy and saw the heart on last firday's ultrasound. Only serious answers please.

As hard as it is to be calm with this news, I urge you to try. It's hard to say exactly what your doctor saw in your ultrasound, or even thinks she sees. There can be a small amount of implantation bleeding appear, from what I understand, which is not a threat to the pregnancy. I am not an expert, by any means, but neither is your doctor. You saw the heartbeat, so by all the things available, it sounds like things are doing fine. For your own piece of mind, though, you would likely be better off if you called the OBGYN you are scheduled to see and give them this information. Ask them if the doctor can look into the matter, and if you can be seen earlier. I would imagine under the circumstances, they should be willing to at least look and call you back, if not get you in sooner. Then you will have the experts opinion and can rest easier. In the meantime, take comfort that you saw a little beating heart. Sometimes those ultrasounds just give you more stress than comfort, and keep in mind that you are still looking at some really shadowy photos. If you aren't really practiced at looking at them, it is real easy to make a mistake. Theres no way to know what this doctor saw, and I think she was rather cruel to tell you. She had to know you would worry, and that's the last thing you need right now. At any rate, there is nothing you can do but have faith and try to stay calm. I personally spotted quite heavily due to a kidney infection with my first, and was panic stricken I would lose the baby. That baby is now 14, and has three younger siblings. So all is not lost and you should try to stay calm and do what you need to do to keep yourself healthy and calm.

My friend suffered from this a few months ago, but instead of having a little she had a huge amount, and was even bleeding out, she actually bled all over the bathroom floor, she was 3 and a half months I believe. The doctor put her to bed rest and got her on hormone tablets and two other prescriptions that I am not familia with, she is now fine, the baby is fine, I think she still has the haemorage but it is controlled.

You should go to a gyno straight away if you are worried about it, don't wait, things like this are too important to wait

Best of luck

I have never heard of that before but I am thinking that if the doctor didn't see much urgency in it then I wouldnt worry....If they were concerned about it I am sure they would have scheduled you for an earlier appointment or another ultrasound right away.
Hope all goes well.

Good Luck!
