does this mean that there will not be a record after the case is closed or when your done with probation?

No, the record will still be there stating all this on your record. You can file paperwork to have it closed to the public, but it will still be on there for law enforcement only to see.

You still have a record but you can get it sealed. The rules on how & when you can do this very from state to state & depends on the crime.
In Colorado it gets sealed & no one can look at it unless they get a court order to get it unsealed. Not even the cops should be able to just take a look at the record.
