1. First of all, fog can make your visibility quite dangerous. When you're driving along and you see a patch of thick fog, that might be the only thing that you can see in front of you. There might be a walker, runner, child, etc. out in the middle of your street and you could easily hit them. Make sure to keep your headlights on (not your brights) to let people know that you are coming around a corner. Also, give plenty of warning by driving slow around those corners. Let them hear you.

2. Fog may make driving conditions dangerous, but it may also foreshadow bad weather. Fog is created when air is lowered to its dew point. In other words, a colum of warm air is sitting on top of denser, cooler air and it is causing that hazy mist. The heat above that colum of cooler air can rise up to form rain clouds, eventually making the roads even less safe than they already are.

3. As for your third reason; fog carries over the ingridients of where it originated. So if you have fog that was created in an area where there is a lot of smog, you are going to have bad lung conditions and things that can harm your body, which is very bad for asthma sufferers.

So I hope that this answers your question.

1) Bad visibility for drivers in the road.
2) Road will be slippery due to wet condition brought by fog.
3) Difficult to see in front of you and dangerous to cross the road due to visibility problem from drivers.

Always dangerous for road users.

Fog (visible moisture) Has actually caused the death of a close friend. We are both pilots. He took a flight one morning with a friend, and the fog condensated on his wings, iced, and caused him to crash. This was actually very recent... North Dakota University Student about 2 months ago.

So if it is cold enough it can cause icing issues.

Really you just cant get past anything related to hazards associated with low visibility...

It lowers visibility but most drivers don't lower their speed enough. This combination can sometimes lead to trouble.
