It depends on how hot it is getting. Any computer component heats up when it is working. If it is just getting warm, there is no problem, only if it is getting really hot, like hot to where you can barely touch it, would you have a problem.

this is normal because the pen drive is getting power form the USB and because they are so small there is not enough space to dissipate the heat.

Is your pen drive Datawrite Voyager 1GB USB Pen Drive? most people have had bad result with this brand, if it's getting hot its normal.

Your Pen drive has a problem. Try contact the store were you buy it, and ask for replacement.
