Not legal, but in much of California it has been turned into the lowest enforcement priority.

Also, there is a law allowing medical use. I've noticed those folks share with a lot of friends...

It is legal here on the west coast for medical patients only at this time.
My state I am told has different rules then the other states. One can not use this for recreational use. If one does not have there card from the state, that person can go to jail to my understanding (I always have my card on me). On is not allowed to use in front of the general public. One can not grow where it can be seen by the general public. One has to have a criminal background check when the application is filed by the state. One has to have legal id for the state the card is issued in. There are more rules then this. We are also not allowed to drive under the influence to my understanding.

Hope this helps? So if you want to use just for recreational use you are out of luck, however if there is a way I can trade you my medical problems and my card lets have at it!!

Go to Amsterdam they have legalized the use and they call them Weed Bars. It won't be legal here till the big business organizes and gets control of processing like tobacco and alcohol. Then it will be legal. But not until the big boys get there hands on the whole kit and kaboodle. Get it? It is a profit thing like prohibition was. And the guy who legalizes it will be the hero of the Western World that is for sure, eh? ha ha

No, it's not. The only time it is legal to have, carry or use marijuana is if it has been prescribed to you by a physician. Even then there are laws that specify where and how you can use it. Even with an rx to have it, you cannot smoke in public or carry more than the specified amount prescribed to you.

It's supposed to be legal to possess small amounts with a 'scrip in California. The police have some wiggle room in the law where they can lock you up anyway. Check with a lawyer.

Medicinal marijuana is legal in CA, but you must have a valid prescription with you at all times if you have marijuana with you.

In Canada you can have a certain amount on you (I believe 2oz) for personal use. Anything above that you can be charged for trafficking. Don't quote me on this though.
