I have an Infiniti G35 Coupe. It is a great little car that will do just about everything you want to do. I drove it in the snow (mostly hard packed snow/ice) recently and it did okay, but it was slow going and it took a bit to get going. The dynamic stability system really got a workout. Infinti now has a G35 Sedan that is AWD, which would be great for snow and just about everything else. I heard BMW also offers 325 and 330 sedans and 325 station wagons that are AWD. Of course Audi has always offered an AWD. Your best bet will be to determine your price range, then decide what kind of options you want, as well as what kind of service you expect. Infiniti has been very disappointing in the service aspect, I hear BMW offers free maintainence, they will pick up your car and leave you with a loaner without any hassles. Infiniti says they will give you a loaner, but you have to fight for it.

Good luck!

If you wanted a more economical choice, go for Ford Focus. The focus is a good all around car, granting you space, power and everyday usability. It's 5pot engine(yes, 5 cylinders) produces 222bhp. Other choice will be the VW Golf GTi, which is even sportier but not as cheap, and the bmw 1series(think of the 118i, the 130i will cost you a fortune, but tones of performance). I suggest you to watch more BBC's Top Gear if you really want to make a good choice and not regreting it.

Test drive one of those Toyota FJ-Cruisers. I really liked it but I couldn't justify getting one when a Camry was better fitted for city living.

look at the warranty and the initial cost of a vehicle and for my money it was the Chevy Tahoe .... they look good and have all the gingerbread inside --- 4x4 --- and you can go to the beach..snow..4-wheeling.. or the opera or country club and you still look good. .....------------- just pick you color and ride ---------------
