Right before bath time, rub baby oil on her head. Then wash with shampoo as normal. Then, after you've dryed her off, put Cortaid or another cortizone cream on her head. My doc told me this and it worked great! It took about 1 week but it cleared up and has not been a problem since!

Aquaphor. Smear it on liberally every time you think about it, and the cradle cap will clear right up. A cousin of mine who is a nurse and a mommy of 2 told me about it.
I tried the baby oil and the Gentle Naturals Cradle Cap Treatment, and neither one made any difference. The Treatment was just a waste of money.
My son's cradle cap was so bad that it was starting to creep down his forehead and it was behind his ears. A lot of his hair fell out, and then wouldn't grow back because of the thick, scaly flakes. The aquaphor cleared it up within a few days.
When I stopped using it, it did come back, but I used the lotion again right away, and kept using it for a week after the flakes were gone, and it hasn't come back for about 8 months now.
The Aquaphor is great not only for the cradle cap, but for dry, craked skin, too. My son gets that on his legs (he's had it since birth, it flares up every month or so) and after I use the aquaphor it goes away. My hands get the same way, so I use it for me, too.
You can get it at Walgreens, I know for sure, but I'd bet that CVS, Wal-Mart, Bigg's, all those kidns of places carry it, too. It's something like 4 bucks for a tube, and one tube lasts for months.
Hope that helps!

How to Get Rid of Cradle Cap
Cradle cap is the baby version of dandruff. The method below should help you get rid of cradle cap.
Steps
Wash your baby's hair regularly. It is not hard if you wash only their hair. Follow step 2 if you are not sure how to do this.
Have a large bowl or sink full of clean warm water. Gather the needed supplies: Towels, wash cloth, shampoo, water pitcher or cup with spout for pouring. Swaddle (wrap the baby up) in a blanket or towel exposing only their head. With the baby's head resting on your forearm, tilt him lowering his head enough to wash it.
Using the pitcher, wet the baby's head. Dry any water that may have gone in the eyes with the wash cloth.
Put a dime-size (or less) dollop of shampoo on the palm of your hand and gently message it into scalp. This is the part that gets rid of the cradle cap. Using your finger tips (not your nails), continue to massage the affected area in a gentle circular motion. Use the wash cloth to wipe any shampoo away from baby's eyes.
Place him again in the tipped position in order to rinse his hair. Place a wash cloth above his eyes, this allows you to keep the soap out of his eyes
Dry his hair with a towel and comb it. The combing will also help to loosen any flaky skin and stimulate the scalp.
Tips
Keeping the soap and water out of his eyes will make the experience much more pleasurable.
An infant scalp brush is extremely effective. These brushes are very soft and can be purchased in the baby section of many stores.
Try baby oil on the scalp if it is stubborn cradle cap (leaves the hair greasy but will remove problem).
Warnings
Make sure the water is warm, not hot. You can check it with your elbow: if it feels too hot for your elbow, it’s too hot for your baby.
Be careful not to push too hard where the baby's "soft spot" is on the scalp.
Things You'll Need
Pitcher or cup
Towels (2)
Wash cloth
Shampoo
Comb

I used Gentle Naturals Cradle Cap Treatment on my son when he was a baby. It was the final product I tried after using many others and it worked. You can find it at most stores although I always purchased it at Target.
