If you're old enough to remember back that far, when Clinton was in office, he decreased the size of the military and the military budget to just about zip. See, people don't want to remember, or their too young to remember.

If you watched the Senate hearings, they are trying to get the soldiers the best of the best, but it takes more than a day to build it. We're not talking about an 'auto production line'...we're talking a specialty...and most specialties take time. Congress using the buck to stop the President didn't help things.

Besides, this military plan was drawn up at the Pentagon with civilians playing armchair warrior with a stupid Risk Game for crine-out-loud. Military war plans should be left up to the military. Not a bunch of wanna-be chiefs.

Are you saying President Bush had the Humvee de-armored or canceled the orders for the body armor? No, I guess that would make Clinton & every president before him guilty of the same things or is it perhaps our "new" Congress who wants to cut funds to military to "force" the President of the United States to bow to their wishes. Military Moms know who controls the purse strings - Congress.

you could blame anybody couldn't you, well I blame Reagan, was there a problem with roadside bombs in Africa? then I guess that Clinton didn't send the troops in unprepared

Clinton did the same thing to the troops in Africa, no one complained about that.

Nancy Pelosi denied funding for more armor and gear for the troops, no one complains about that.

Bush Admin was unprepared for the attack, and it's never too late to fix it.

Why didn't Clinton but the proper equipment in the eight years he was president. Why just blame Bush who had been in office less than a year when it started?
