anyone here a psychologist that i can talk to? like literally, spill out everything, and provide me with feedback. i'm a highschool kid, and i am seriously thinking about suicide. i don't want to go to a psychologist, becuase they will tell my mom everything that i tell them. i just want to get through this "highschool emo stage" of life, but there are so many things that make me sooo sad, i just can't concentrate on my hw, because my thoughts always diverge. please, let this be an opportunity to actually help someone on YahooAnswers, not just worrying about the 2 points that you will gain.

If you talk to a psychologist then he/she is legally bound by "doctor/patient privilege" to keep the things you say confidential, even from your mom, even if you are a minor. If you are considering suicide, please get help. If you don't know what to do then go to your school nurse or a hospital emergency room and say that you need to get some help because you are feeling suicidal. There are even hotlines you can call - I don't know of one offhand so I hope another poster will be able to provide you with a specific phone number or website. Don't dismiss your feelings as "high school emo" - they are your feelings and they are valid and real and important. You may have a mental illness like depression or you may simply be going through a lot of very difficult stuff. Either way, talking to a professional can help you. I'll be thinking of you and hoping you can get better.

Hey, nothing's that bad! Try to remember that there is always light at the end of the tunnell, that no matter how bad you feel today, at some point you will look back and say,"whew, that was a tough time". I'm not a psychologist, but I have had some pretty tough times in my life, so I speak from experience.
One thing I do know for sure is that you do need to talk to someone. I don't know where you are, but there must be some community help nearby somewhere. If you are in Australia, call Lifeline, it's totally anonomous . Other countries, I'm not sure. But either way, it'll be totally up to you whether your parents are told anything. It's totally confidential, usually, unless the psychologist is really concerned you'll be a danger to yourself or others. And maybe it's not such a bad thing to let your mum in on your life, you never know, maybe she can help you. She was young once, too, you know.
Get some help before you do something you'll regret.
And SMILE, it makes you feel better!
