my ps2 is pretty much done. its one of the original ones (not the slim one) and it keeps coming up disc read error. i have a lot of games for my ps2 that i still like to play so it would be nice to get a system that could still play them.
however, ive heard some not so great reviews on the ps3, and dont know what i should do. dont worry about prices, thats doesnt matter. I just want to know if i should just get the ps3, or if i should just get a new ps2 and maybe get an xbox 360. (i dont like the wii)

the ps3 reviews might not be that great now because there aren't really great games yet. but in reality it has a faster processor than the x-box.
and you're right. the wii sucks.
