the midpoint in a series of numbers; half the data values are above the median, and half are below. For example, in the odd series 1, 4, 9, 12 and 33, 9 is the median. In the even series 1, 4, 10, 12, 33 and 88, 11 is the median (halfway between 9 and 12). Note, the median is not necessarily the same as the AVERAGE (or mean). For example, the median of 2, 6, 10, 22 and 40 is 10 but the average is 18.

The median is the point at which half of the points are to the right of it and the other half is to the left of it.

But, first you must SORT your data in ascending or descending order. If you have a lot of data points it is helpful to use a graphing calculator like TI-83 and above. It will be difficult to give you an answer since you had your data end in ellipsis ....This means there are more data following. If this is the case, it will be impossible to get the median.

HOWEVER, if we based it on the data you gave--12 points, then after sorting out, you will have six points of 3,5,5,6,6,7 on the left and six points of 10,10,10,11,13,25 on the right. Thus, the median is the midpoint of the two "middle Points" of 7 and 10.
This gives you a value of 17/2 or 8.5

8.5 is your median.

To get the median, arrange the given numbers from lowest to highest so you'll have 3,5,5,6,6,7,10,10,10,11,13,25. then get the value of the 6th and 7th number that is 7 & 10 respectively. Add them divided by 2 and that's your median.
Solution: 7 + 10 = 17/2 = 8.5
There, your median is 8.5

order your terms.

if you have an odd number of terms, the median is the term in the middle.

if you have an even number of terms the median is the average of the two middle terms.
