Most of you are giving great answers, only a select few are rude. The reason I ask is because I still find it hard to put myself out there even knowing you all are strangers. Thanks!

Often when were wrapped up in our own lives, it feels like we are the only one that could possibly be going through what challenges us. To come on here and anonymously ask for advice, the response we receive lets us know that were not alone. It makes us feel better about who we are.

Just because they ask doesn't mean their problems are solved. None of us, know what the person really means, when they type a question ,but we can relate to it, if it fits, what is going on in our life at the time. People on here, are not looking for solutions, most of the time, they are looking for others experiences in a similar situation. They take the ideas, they get from here, and build from it.

Everyone is fighting some kind of battle. There's a certain amount of safety in being able to talk about it with others who don't know who you are. It's often too painful to discuss problems with people who know you because some will just sympathize with you; others will tell you to get over it, and even others will make it clear they don't have time for your problems because they're covered up with their own. On a website such as this, there's a release of stress just in being able to post your feelings and your questions even if you never get a satisfactory answer.

I think sometimes it is nice to recieve advice from strangers as they are more removed from your situation and may see it in a different way to how you do. I don't mind asking for advice for some things, but some issues are just too personal to ask strangers about.

Yahoo Answers does not solve any problem, the person asking the question does that with help from others who've been there and experienced that. God Bless, RickN

Anonymity... There are things I ask on Yahoo Answers that I don't think I could ask my friends. Besides, the results are collective and you get a wider perception of what the "norm" might be.

I think it's important that when we answer questions on here, we really do our best... It's a lot of responsibility... I mean, some of these questions are of lige and death nature.

because you can log off at the end of the day and you will most likely never meet the people that you asked private questions to. and cus its easier and cheaper than seeking real advice! Humans are all about convenience!

I think it's because you have the luxury of asking total strangers questions about very personal issues AND you get your answers very quickly.

Here you can find every thing, professional people and hobbies, actually it is a figure of the right thing, like a small statistic, you can at least feel that there are many polite people, like you:)

Boredom, anonymity....and sometimes the answers just make you laugh out loud. Add to that the fact that you can say here...the things you just dont say face to face..... and its a great time waster!!! Best show in town....
