I'M working for somebody that is only giving 25% to %30 of her business. I work in homes that are 2000-4000 sq. feet and its a very physical job-not for the unmotivated-I'm only getting 25-30% of the job-take in account that she's doing most of the bathrooms and the kitchen-and floors- I do all vacuming and dusting in these homes . No she is not insured and she supplies very little supplies and I provide my own transportation. She does the advertising and quotes the jobs-her jobs range from $80.00 to 120.00 depending on the home. Yes this is her business but let me remind you that its not easy finding reliable help[ at min. wage and very physical work also. If you want to help me relsolve this fair wage dispute answer openly and put yourself in my shoes-I understand that there is no special skills involved-just hard labor and reliabilty. I'm tremedously counted on for my protion of labor.

You don't say where you are or how long you have been with this person. There are two kinds of people to work for..... ones who respect you and try to give you what you are worth, and cheapskates who don't pay you what you are worth never say thank you or good job. If you just started, you should talk to her about raises. Are you being paid what other people are getting for similar work? You should get one small raise after 3 mos. and at 6 mos. Then at least annually. There should be some type of an annual bonus. It sounds like you need to set up a time and talk to her. Does she do the work too, or only book the jobs? Usually when you work for someone who works, they appreciate it if you are doing a good job. When we are working for someone and doing a good job it is nice to feel appreciated.

I am with the previous poster, start cleaning homes independently and you will not regret it. Start by running ads in your local newspaper and if were you live people us a lot of craigslist.com put a free advert on there too. I clean homes for a living and although it is hard to get really good clients that want your service on a regular basis its worth the wait. If you are willing to work and you are honest then go for it. Once you clean well and you are reliable you will get referrals from your satisfied clients. Do not be afraid and develop good cleaning skills such as cleaning fast yet thorough and you will clean up the profits. Goood luck!

You knew the responsibilites and pay before you accepted the job. If your unhappy look for another job. Minimum wage is going up to $7 25 over the next 2 years. Don't you think in two years you can have your own client list?

HMMM...well been there myself....i cleaned houses with a lady...she was charging 15.00/hour per person working..it was just her and myself ...i was getting 10 an hour. Not much you can really do...but here's a suggestion.....you know how to do the work and you know how she quotes jobs and so forth....do what I'm going to do..start cleaning houses on your own. Why not get in this yourself. That's what i realized myself..I could do the same thing as her and reap the rewards of being my own boss...I wish you the best of luck!!!

I have a good friend that is doing the same thing as yourself. She also complains about the Job Pay but I remind her that if she worked somewhere else they would be taking out Taxes each week and she would be making about 50.00 less...If your Boss is taking out Taxes and you are still not happy, you may want to seek employment elsewhere.

why dont you start your own company or talk to your boss and tell her how you feel. If you talk to her and feel that you arent being paid for the work you are doing start your own company or go to work for someone who will value your hard work. cleaning bathrooms and floors isnt too hard but vaccuming probably 75 % of the house is very tiring.
