Good question because a lot of people don't know this. You should hold the same grip for both your forehand volley and your backhand volley (the pros use the same grip on both and the grip you should hold is CONTINENTAL). If the ball is coming at you fast at the net, there is no way you can possible adjust your grip. A continental grip gives you a good ability to strike the ball on both sides. A link below is a picture on how left handed players should hold a continental grip. I almost forogot. You get a lot of incorrect answers from everyone on this site. At tennis clubs, this is what they teach, this is what the pro's teach, and this is what I taught last summer. I taught tennis lessons last summer and all the other pro's I worked with did this. Don't be fooled by the people that say otherwise.

The Eastern grip is what you should be using. In fact you will use the eastern grip for both your volleys forehand and backhand . You just do not have enough time when you are at the net to switch grips , everyone hits the ball so hard today . If you are now sure what the eastern grip is google it and see a picture, It is easier to visualize "see it" rather then have someone like me who could show you or move your hand to the right spot in a few seconds on the court. It will feel odd for a bit , but in 3 months you will do it automatically by muscle memory without thinking.
You may get some suggestions for a continental for your volley rather then the eastern m this can work also. The reason I recommend the Eastern over the continental is because the volley grip is the same grip you want to use one your backhand ground stroke serve and overhead, Again I teach the eastern over the continental because of the lack of time you have to make the change to the semi western or Western that you will be using on your forehand, because everyone hits the ball so darn hard.
Look at Federer's volley next time you see him play and you will get a good view of what it is even though he is a righty. It is the same your index finger knuckle will be on the upper left hand slant on the left side of your grip. I hope this helps. Good luck to you. You can learn it no problem. By the way when i teach the vollley the grip i the first thing I show my clients. Grab a lesson for a half an hour it will really help. Take care,
