He did this through the magic we call "Fiction". This mysterious force has been around along time. It gets more powerful when: it's 2:00 AM when the wife is waiting; the Discovery Channel pays for it; or when you've been fishing alone.

Its not. It was probably a hypothetical example. If the discovery channel said it happened, then change the channel.

The idea behind time travel is that IF you could reach the speed of light, time for you would stop seeming to elapse. But the effect is only felt as you get Veeeerrry close to the speed of light. No device man made can come close yet. Not 1/2 the speed, not 1/4 the speed, no, not even close.

Also, its considered an impossibility from physics standpoint. I don't understand this but as you approach the speed of light, it becomes impossible to accelerate any more so with the concept of rockets, it would be impossible. This is where Star Trek comes in. Some folks theorize that there might be a way to bend time and travel around it. Pretty much - hyperspace. But of coarse, that's all pretty much science fiction.

I will add that if aliens are real, they would have probably already mastered near light speed travel. Maybe your friend in the plane was following an alien and drafted along behind...

I saw what your talking about. It was a man in a plane that travel through what he call a vortex of rotating clouds. This show was on the Bermuda triangle. His trip should have taken a few hours, but after he passed through this he was where he needed to be in half the time from when he started. So it was not 30 years later, his time was only shorted by a hour or so.

It is most likely, that the man was telling a fib.

Consider the principle of Occam's razor. The explanation which relies most on what we already know, is probably correct.

We know that people are capable of lying. We don't know that people are capable of time travel. Therefore it is more likely that this man is lying, than traveling in time.

By travelling at speeds close to the speed of light it is theoretically possible to travel forward in time, as Einstein proved that time is relative for different observers. If the man travelled at close to light speed away from the Earth and then back, it is possible that 30 years could have elapsed on Earth in only five minutes for him.

Unfortunately any such acceleration to sub-light speed would have crushed this man. Also, we don't know how to accelerate him to such speeds. So while the physics does allow for time dilation, A far simpler and more likely explanation is that he is simply lying.

The answer is that it is not possible. I say that more because no one can explain an event like that in terms that we think of as scientifically possible.

If the person really did travel in time, it was by some force or effect that is completely unknown to us. Such as it is, that would be described as impossible since it violates many of the known "laws" of physics. Or at the very least relied upon some effect of physics that is unknown to modern science.

Logic just says that this is impossible. How can a man go ahead 30 years? And how did he know? Did he contact his family? What happened in those 30 years? Was he "MIA" those 30 years, and what did people think when he returned.

It does sound like a science fiction type or story. It's never happened to me so why shoudl I believe it. it is about reason and rational thinking.

Because our minds are set in the "reasonal" thinking, a story like this is just impossible.

i saw a similiar one in discovery channel. if i remember the explanation was the plane was moved along with the magnetic cloud. He say it felt like the plane was been lifted by something. It only need 1 hour instead of 5 hour. regading ur question it might have been time holes?

This is something we call he is stupid, hallucinating or making something up for a attention. You can't go through a cloud and end up in a new world. A cloud is just water vapor with a little carbon dioxide. Not a gate way through time.

Don't believe everything you see on TV. It's impossible!
