My mother in law of 14 years has tried to help my husband get together with other women even encouraging him to split up with me. She puts down our children by stating that they are too mature for their age and that they should be as hillbilly as the rest of the family. Well she didn't say the last part but that is what I am dealing with. It is my husbands mother. I have went out of my way to be kind to her and she always says things to me like " I love you more then my own daughters" and then will do something so far as to tell my husband that he can bring a girl to her house. I know this because he tells me. At first he is upset but then his mom will lay the drama in and make him feel sorry for her. I am so afraid this is going to drive me crazy. I have been dealing with this insecurity from her for 14 years and I have finally said enough is enough. I love my husband very much and we are happy. Please any advice will help.

Your husband needs to set her straight, and not listen to that kind of talk coming from her mouth, if she won't stop, he needs to leave immediately. She will act just as bad as he lets her, if he won't let her act bad she'll clean-up her act. God Bless RickN

Sounds like your mother in law is a drama queen for sure.Theres got to be away to turn the tables on her. Maybe you can get a friend that you and your husband know to act like shes his girl friend and show up at his moms house. This might shock her into keeping her mouth shut.Better yet you could show up later and say something to blow her mind. Good luck with her cause i know they can be a pain. lol im a mother in law but would never say anything like his mom said.

From personal experience you will never win. I went through that for 13 years. No im not bitter. My now ex and i fought and fought with her until we couldn't fight anymore. If she is selfish and does not care about anyone but herself she will do what ever she can to get her own way.

I WOULD TELL HER OFF AND STOP PLAYING NICE. YOU HAVE NO REASON TO BE NICE TO SOMEONE WHO IS DISRESPECTING YOU AND YOUR CHILDREN. CUT YOUR TIES WITH HER. LET YOUR HUSBAND KNOW THAT HE CONTINUE TO HAVE A RELATIONSHIP WITH HIS MOTHER BUT NOT TO EXPECT YOU TO HAVE ONE WITH HER. I TOOK ALOT OF THE SIMILAR CRAP FROM MY MIL AND MOST OF IT WAS BECAUSE I WAS TOO NICE.AFTER I STOPPED LETTING HER RUN ME AND MY FAMILY, HER CRAP STOPPED AND I CAN TOLERATE HER NOW.
