ok i am almost a week late on my period i took a test tonight and it was negative this is the first time i took one has anyone else had this happen? is this normal. i think i might be pregnant b/c my boobs are sooo sore!! but i really just wanted to no what the chanes are that the test was flase and also wanted to hear how many of u this has happend to! thanks!

Remember that sore breasts are also a sign of your ovulation, you could be starting your period.
I had a false negative (actually more than one, because I took it repeatedly) on my pregnancy test with my first pregnancy. It wasn't until I started feeling really run down and thought I had the flu that I found out I was pregnant. Complete shock after the negative results.

The test I took turned negative, which turned out to be wrong. Home test are usually pretty acurate but like everything else they don't have a 100% guarantee to be right, false results are not very common but they can occur. My suggestion wait a few days and take another one, preferably first thing in the morning because that's when pregnancy hormones are at their highest. If you are really worried just go see a doctor.
