He sounds like Professor Frink, and plays horrible hippie dinosaur bumper music. Unlistenable.

Great question..I thought I was the only one! I used to listen to his show-no wonder he never made it past a year because it was stupid and boring. His satire is a wast of airtime. He is often on the fence and as a progressive liberal (whatever that means) I could not stand it. He started out willing to take risks with his words and the one book (Oh I forget which) was great for that reason. BUT THEN SUDDENLY he became timid, polite an unrisky. At the time of the change I took a bet with myself (because I thought I was the only one) and the bet was: "I bet he wants to run for office, senate or something like that, and thats why he is suddenly selling out to polite rhetoric." I was RIGHT, (I mean still LEFT, but you know what I mean!) Okay so now I am not the only one. There are definitely 2 of us...Phew!

I know what you mean. I'm a conservative and there are lots of conservatives I can't stand. The Al Frankens and the Michael Savages really don't do a lot to advance understanding. My fave liberal is probably Juan Williams. I disagree with almost everything he says, but he does a good job of articulating leftist stances.

Well, I don't hate him but I think his show is boring and pointless half the time. I really don't want to hear him talk to some unknown writer about a book that has nothing to do with politics in the voice of Stuart Smalley.. He's boring as hell and rarely talks about important issues. I'll stick with Ed Schultz.. He seems to be the ONLY host from either side worth listening to..

franken is like Michael Moore lite for the most part...

he's a tid bit funnier... but overall, it's all just twisting the truth to make others appear extreme and yourself appear moderate...

just like Rush and all those fellows do on the other side...

they take a blatantly obvious point that everyone agrees with and compare it to a twisted fact about the other party... time and time again...

I don't hate him... but those guys annoy me on the whole...

YES and you are obviously NOT a true liberal. Liberals never dislike their own and the same applies to conservatives. This explains why America is polarized. Read his book about his run for the US Presidency as a Jewish American. Would you try to have an open mind and read it?

I'm a Liberal and I know almost nothing about him. I see his name all over the place, and I know his face... but beyond that... well, I guess I've just never been interested enough to find out anything more.

I don't know if you are the only liberal that has good taste, but you are correct. Al Franken has become old, stale, and unpalatable.

I know only one Al Franken and he is a political satirist. I like him very much and his books made me laugh, there is humor in truth.

Well, I have to be honest. I'm a conservative. But I really like Stuart Smalley. He's good enough, he's smart enough, and gosh darnit, people like him! (Sort of.)
