There is a difference between homosexuality and a sinful lifestyle. Yes, there are homosexuals that live sinful lifestyles, but there are also heterosexuals that live sinful lifestyles. Homosexuality itself is not a sinful lifestyle, because homosexuals have the capacity to be in a loving and committed relationship, just as heterosexuals. The sad thing is, it seems like homosexuals feel that they always need to have an explanation for any kind of relationship they have, whether it is a lustful relationship or a committed one. With heterosexuals, it seems that any kind of relationship is acceptable. You may not feel this way, but much of society does. I'm not going to try to convince you that I was born gay, because you are straight and couldn't possibly understand how I feel. As for your argument about God and homosexuality, I have to tell you that I do not put all of my faith in the Bible. The main reason I don't, is because we do not have any of the original manuscripts, and instead must rely on copy after copy after copy. These copies are often unreliable, because they have been translated so many times that it is impossible to determine whether the passages are even close to being right. In addition, the Bible is also misinterpreted. I myself believe that God didn't inspire the Bible. I believe that the authors wrote it based on their feelings towards God. You have probably heard this before, but why would I choose to live this lifestyle? Honestly, when I was a teenager I would have given anything not to be gay. Finally, I learned to accept myself. In my opinion, people that try to change their sexual orientation or choose to ignore it are the ones going against nature and God. Why don't I repent? I don't feel that being gay is wrong.

Get over your Christianity already. It's not the wherewith all of the god of Abraham. There are three main religions that worship the same god. Each one of them has denominations or sects et al. that has different beliefs. One is no better than the next. In my opinion some are worse, and I'm certain you hold that belief also. That is the crux of faith. I should think that people such as yourself would concentrate on other aspects of faith, like doing good, forgiving what you perceive as the sin and loving the sinner, that type of stuff. We're all sinners. Why are some people so focused on one particular supposedly sinful aspect of humanity when there are so many other things that need to be done to improve the lot of us? I just don't get it. What I don't get is how people can dissect the bible word by word to further their agenda without considering the entire text. It's illogical.

I can see that this question will never, ever, ever get old on this site. I swear I see this question every night that I'm on. I don't think you're going to persuade anyone with your argument. And fair enough for posting your question, but seriously, do a search and read the answers for the 1,000,000+ other questions about God and homosexuality on here.
The Bible is not meant to be read as a concrete book of rules. It is a book of LESSONS written by literally THOUSANDS of different people throughout the years. And yes, these people shared differing ideas. They followed Christianity but none of them actually spoke to God -- they were relaying stores that they'd heard from generations before. Kinda like a game of Chinese Telephone.
Whatever the Bible was in its incarnation has very little resonance now. However, the simple truths in it -- God is Love, for example -- are still very applicable in modern society.

In the Bible it state's homosexuality is a major sin. However, God loves all, just not the sin. Ask for forgiveness and you can be forgived.

I was born a lesbian, I will die a lesbian, and I am not a christian. There's lots of contradictions in that bible - too many for ME to worry about running my life around it. There's absolutely NO proof that there's a god. The bible was written by a bunch of men and there is not enough solid explanation to get me interested. THAT much being said, I will not be trying to make myself be heterosexual because it wasn't meant to be. Nature has different plans for us all.

Maybe, just maybe, like people of all faiths, beliefs, and religions, they 'cherry pick' the 'good bits' - the bits that suit them.
As for sin, I cannot help help you, the concept is as alien to me as the courtship rituals of the ostrich.
(I'm not a Christian, for the sake of clarity).
Many people seek a dialogue with a God for comfort, protection, stability. So they may feel they have a fixed point, to which they can refer, in an otherwise seemingly bewildering, and chaotic universe.
I think it is good that you love your brother. Love is something, like compassion, forgiveness, and reason, that is often found lacking, in this world.

I believe that if god did not want anyone to be homosexual than why did he make them that way. People say that you choose to be homosexual but honestly do you think you could wake up one morning and like your own gender.

First of all, your assuming that your talking of the SAME God.
Most Christians believe in a Trinity. I don't.
Most Christians believe in a burning, eternal hell. I don't.
Most Christians believe that Jesus was God on earth. I don't. I think he was the "son" of God on Earth.
So, if your god has 3 heads and mine doesn't, we certainly don't share the same God!
