Whats up with that girls ? all the other countrys didnt have but a couple why so many in the states? Is it the water?

lol this made me laugh. im not a lesbian. but i have seen craiglist. i think that it is mostly perverted guy making those ads. they take the pictures from the straight ads and they post them on the lesbian ads just to see if anyone will take the bait. maybe they hope to talk to a wild woman or something. plus they get a chuckle from it i guess. there are all sorts of warnings for women who post in the straight boards as well as the lesbian boards that people might theif their pictures. not that i know from experience. i only look at that site when im very bored. of course some might be for real particularly in sf. i dont see many from where i grew up.

I think there's a difference between a woman who is erotically attracted to women and a woman who is making a political/feminist statement by choosing lesbianism. America has such strong emphasis on individual freedoms (although I would argue that freedom here is an illusion because we're trapped in a web of corporate consumerism, but that's a whole different issue..), so choosing lesbianism might work for a woman who's fed up with what she perceives as the oppressions that go along with traditional heterosexual institutions. Gender relations here are confusing; I think men don't know exactly what their role is anymore. So to sum it up, I would say its a combination of American emphasis on individualism and women questioning heterosexual roles and institutions... that and the fact that affection between women is accepted, whereas between men its not.

Maybe our perception of that is distorted, but I'd been thinking the same too. It's possible that since it's been fetishized & more acceptable today, we're seeing more of it as a result, but the numbers are the same as ever(?)...

a lot of girls that i went to highschool with turned bi or into lesbians....i think its just because they think it will make them cool some how, i dont know...and i dont care if they do that means i get a bigger selection of guys haha

it's because so many guys are ugly, weird, or just plain unattractive and undesirable.
i don't blame the women for leaving men along.
i would too if i was a girl. men are disgusting...
