You have described the difference between a war run by politicians vs. a war run by the generals in the field.
Perhaps someday we will learn the difference and stop treating war like a game.

I dont think we ever should have went over there. Let me say first, that I'm not against our military, besides, I'm a military wife. I support them because they have no choice, they have orders. Anyways, the lives lost can never be replaced by money, or apologies. There has been more civilian casualities since we intruded, then there ever was when Saddam was in power (once again let me say, that statement DOES NOT mean I support Saddam in any way shape or form)We are over there for reasons that dont quite add up, and children are losing their mommys and daddys, wives losing husbands, and parents losing their children. It is a sad sad reality, so yes, they should have pulled out twelve months ago.

war or not war... people die in war just 3 percent from the annual death per year... 30 percent died of desease and age factor per year around the world.. 56 percent died of war, accident and killing..
11 percent died without cause or missing and considered dead.
56% dead every year around the globe because of conflicts, technology made by human themselves.
maybe if they just follow the rules the percentage won't be a big problem. Remember.. every rules made to improve our lives. there is no rules to ruin human lives, same as religion.. only peoples thought, anger, arrogant, ignorant and selfish think the rules are against them.
neither war nor conflicts can be resolved in a year.. it may take 3 to 4 decades and counting...
believe this.. more will die not just 1000.. more troops means more body bag and US govt. won't take the responsibilities, they will point to the east..

Those 2 border patrol officers (sent to prison for DOING THEIR JOB) just got beat up in there. This is an outright injustice I certainly wouldn't have associated with the US. Isn't this an obvious sell-out of what America used to stand for? God help those 2 good guys Gloria Dios! So my friend what's next? These things are not right at all and we will loose our grace with God.

Instead of being PC with the whole raiding mosques thing, we should have cleared them, gone after Muqtada Al-Sadr with a vengence and brutally gone after AQI.
Instead, we rushed into elections to appease the anti war crowd and now we have to submit to Al-Maliki's bias to Iran instead of do what needs to be done.
I hope GEN Petraius has more balls.

I like the thought, it makes you think. But in the end, the only conclusion I can draw is that there are some values that a people of conscience can't bend on.

Um what you said is not true actually more soldiers have died in car accidents percentage wise compared to iraq. The sunis and shiites still would have attacked each other killing more then what you said.
