just water and keep in a dark place. someone mentioned bread, that might work. better yet, go to the local food co-op get yourself some agar-agar. it'll be in powder form. makes a jelly like stuff with water, they use it in labs to grow cultures. it's a kind of starch. just sift some in and spray light mist of water stick them in closet. be advised you may need to barricade closet door, you will have quite a community before long. great project. good luck.
