Try Basilisk as well as the live-action movie called Shinobi. Both came out last year. Hellsing and Trinty Blood are in the same vein as Vampire Hunter D. Oh here's another one kinda like Ninja Scroll: Samurai Deeper Kyo. More comedy, but I enjoyed it once the action started.

Blood:The Last Vampire
The story is set in the American Yokota Airbase located in post-WWII Japan, a few months before the beginning of the Vietnam War. Its main protagonist is a girl named Saya, who hunts vampiric demons (referred to as Chiroptera) using a katana; she works for the United States government. The title of the film implies that she is the last remaining vampire, and in the movie, Saya is referred to as "the last remaining original" (possibly referring to what are sometimes known as "shinso vampires" in Japanese fiction).

Vampire Princess Miyu
(吸血姫美夕, Kyūketsuki Miyu?) is a horror anime series by Narumi Kakinouchi and Toshiki Hirano, as well as a manga series based on this anime. Its central characters are a vampire girl named Miyu and her demonic companion Larva. Vampires in Vampire Princess Miyu are hunters of "Shinma" or god-demons, and Miyu, being the last of the vampires, has the exclusive job of hunting down the Shinma.
The anime was originally presented in a 4-episode OVA (Original video animation)

I agree with the poster who suggested Shinobi...avail yourself please...if you liked Ninja Scroll...you will like Shinobi...

Makai Tensho aka Ninja Resurrection
Jubei shows up a again in this anime...Yagyū Jūbei Mitsuyoshi, a wandering swordsman in Tokugawa era Kyūshū. At the time, many westernized Japanese Christians were being put down by the government. This story seizes on the idea of Christians being slaughtered and weaves a violent and disturbing tale. The charismatic and holy young leader Amakusa Shiro of the Shimabara Rebellion hopes to resist the government forces attacking his people and preserve their way of life. Unfortunately, he is tragically assassinated by ninja and his spirit turns into a demon. The demon calls upon many Christian magical powers to slaughter people very quickly.
