I know a fair amount. I know midfield's the 55-yard line, and teams only have 3 downs instead of 4 to get a first down, hence more passing, and also 12 players on the field. They have the 3-minute warning instead of the 2-minute warning, also. And the goalposts are @the goalline instead of 10 yards deep. And the endzone's huge; you can have first-and-goal from the 10 and send somebody deep!
I think it's exciting football to watch. Think some of the uniforms are kinda gay, though; I'd work on that!

I know a few things about Canadian football. The ball is larger, the field longer and wider, and the players smaller and slower, and many are NFL rejects. How's that?
The fact that Canadians "can tell you almost anything about the NFL" should speak volumes; the NFL is a vastly superior, more athletic, and better run league then the CFL, and Canadians are really into the NFL because it's so much better then the product they see on the field. Americans could care less about the CFL, because here in the U.S. the NFL rules, and also in Canada, it would seem. Just being honest.

not a bad question, When the Browns (Cleveland, NFL) drafted Spergon Wynn the year after Tim Couch, I actually liet myself believe the Browns could be real contenders. Not the case, I enjoyed watching Spergon sub Tim C, and followed his exploits in the CFL. Short of copying crp from a CFL website, I'm partly sure the field is WIDER, some FG attempts are worth 4 points (but the more I think about it, that's an NFL Europe rule). I'm going to eat my hat an check out a CFL website.

we know very little. i watch like 2 games, and there are alot of diffrent rules that seemed a bit watered down. but trys to be more entertaining
(3 downs instead of 4) (110 yards and 20 yard endzones, so more field to cover.)
and i don't understand having that 2nd slotback? and the 12 men on the field. so by this i assume there is alot more passing, espcially having only 3 downs.
other than that i really have no clue in the diffrences
americans don't know much about it, but for some reason alot of people (including ESPN) likes to make fun of it and make jokes about out bad NFL players go to the CFL, and good CFL players go to the NFL.

I like CFL - can't really get it down here in Oregon though...When I'm in Canada, I do try to catch the games. Slightly different field size, slightly differerent rules, still a great game.
Still boring compared to rugby. :-D
Im more of a fan of the Rough Riders and the Stampeders than I am the Lions - though you'd think over here, I'd go for the Lions. See, the only REAL Lions are the Detroit Lions! :-D

It's a wider field, with only three downs and twelve men per field. That means it's a faster game with a heck of a lot more passing. I think the Canadian variant is fun to watch.
