if injured on the job should you use your own doctor or your works job

If injured at work and requiring hospital treatment, then I would be guided by the treating doctor at the hospital, as long as they take into consideration my medical history. When released I would see my doctor because she knows me, and my medical history, including drug allergies etc.

If the workplace wants me to see their doctor then I would make sure I take as much information about my health and medical history, from my normal doctor, and that of the treating doctor from the hospital.

I would also take someone who I trust with me to the workplace doctor. As someone said workplace doctors are only interested in getting you back to work, not your well being.

tough question...
if you use the company doctor...they may have the company in mind and try to get you back to work soon. any testing requires approval and it may take days to weeks to get you treated...you also become a statistic with uncle sam (you had an on the job injury (OTJI) and that record stays with you in future employment because some people make a living out of OTJI's
if you use you personal insurance, you get treated very soon, see anyone, go anywhere and you are on your way
however, it is insurance fraud (if you should get caught...so you need to make up a good story on how you got your injury) and not only will you have to pay the bill...you could go to jail
tread lightly

From my experience the "company doc" has a vested interest in getting you back to work asap, whereas YOUR doc's main priority is getting you fixed up. In California you are required to see the companies doctor for the first 30 days and then you MUST be allowed to use your own doctor if you so choose.

Usually the co makes you use their doctor. And, say you get hurt bad, the doctor will claim you can 'still work', no matter if you have bad injuries or not.

Both plus at least 2 more. Plus put a lawyer on retainer, send your mail via his office. more expensive but worth it. Insurance companies are there to earn a profit.
