Okay, so my sister dropped my Powerbook G4 causing half of the screen to go blank and not work! When I took it to the Apple store they said that the damage was pretty bad so it would cost me approximately $1,200 (but everything would be changed and fixed, including hd)!! I paid about $2000 for it a couple years ago. The computer works perfectly fine, except for the broken screen. They "Mac Genius" told me that even though it worked fine, it might take a while for it to start messing up. ITs been months now and its fine. Do you guys think it will really mess up later on?
I suppose what Im debating is whether to shell out $500 to fix the screen only or not? I dont wanna fix screen and then have computer not work?
Or should I just not do it and wait till it dies and buy another one?

Hello kittykattt,

I'm so sorry to hear about your PowerBook's terrible accident. I have a TiBook myself, and it's still working good for me. I love my PowerBook, so I feel your pain.

You can almost buy a MacBook Pro for that price and move your old files to your new Macintosh. Check out the prices here:

For the same price you can buy the most updated Macs, so that sounds like a better deal to me personally. Best of luck on your decision.

i individually have a Western digital Ex HDD professional, it hooks up with firewire, usb, and Firewire 8 the only situation quicker than firewire 8 that i'm attentive to is a sata hook up, yet for a mac e book firewire 8 is the main suitable thank you to bypass. For the fee and value it rather is definately well worth it.
