I have been bleeding between periods for about 3 months now. I am 20 and just had a normal pap 1/2007 and i didnt just have an abortion, my blood tests were all normal in 1/2007, i havent taken any new birtch control or stopped any, i have been off since about late 2005. I just had my cycle jan 20's 07 and today once again i started bleeding...
Does any one know what this might be, should i be worried? It starts as a brownish color, which i know from working in the medical field it usually means its old, but it also switches from brown to red and its not excessive but lasts a few days?
Anything? THANKS

i had the same thing happen to me after quiting the shot. it didnt start though untill almost a year later and i bled off and on for about 3 months. if it keeps on you may call your og-gyn and talk to him or her about the problem and see what advice they can give to u and they may tell you that there is nothing to worry about

If I am reading this right, you just began birth control pills again? This is normal for you to be having what we call break-through bleeding. Before you go back and try another pill, give it a little time. Remember those pills must be taken just about the same time every day...never miss any. If you take them at 8 AM today and 8 PM tomorrow and then 12 noon the next day your ovary is not getting the correct message and may think you need to ovulate. If you miss a pill it definitely gets that message. Please use a backup method such as a condom to be sure you won't get pregnant. If this continues for another month with stringent use of the pill as I suggested, then you might need a stronger pill to prevent break- through bleeding.

You're probably spotting. It happens between periods sometimes.

I had the same problem about age 18, I had to stay on birth control to keep me regular. Check with your doctor is you best bet. your hormones are messed up. at 46 I do not have a period any more.

'spotting' between periods can be normal.... since it's not heavy/painful then I think that's all it is but if you're worried about it then I suggest you go to your GP and see them about it, they are the experts.....
