I personally did not work till i graduated from highschool. I was fine with what my parents could afford. The thought of working and going to school just made me sick. If all my parents could get me was one pair of shoes then so be it. My brother did not feel the same way. He has been working as soon as he could but he allways has wanted material things.
Did you have a job in highschool? Why did you get one?

I had several jobs as a teenager. When I was 14, I was a camp counselor during the summer. When I was 15, I working in the copy room inside the hospital during the summer. When I was I was old enough to work at age 16, I worked at a grocery store as a cashier. I wanted to work since the age of 14 because I wanted my own money to buy the school clothes and shoes that I wanted. Plus I needed my own money to buy what I wanted and needed.

I'm 16 curently and in the eleventh grade. I have 2 jobs for a toatal of about 19 to 22 and a half hours per week. I'm glad I work becuase without my jobs, i'd just be sitting at home bored to death. It's not like I need the money or anything. I have $2700 give or take $100 because I never spend money.

i got a summer job when i turned 16, then worked from my senior year until now. I am the only one of my sisters that had a job at that age and frankly, i am the only one that has a work ethic, money management, etc. my sisters work a little, then quit. ask mom and dad or friends for money, etc. I just did it because it may me feel good about myself to pay my own car insurance, buy my own school clothes. it was a good sense of "hey, I was able to do this all on my own." don't get me wrong, i am not saying if you didn't work in high school, you'll turn out to be like my sisters. (they are a little wierd anyway) but working when i was younger has made me a different person. i am glad i did it.

I worked at Taco Bell from 16 to 18, I did it because I wanted money and I wasn't involved in sports or any school activities so I had to do something, and working at that age gives you a whole new prespective on the real world.

I got my first job when I was 16 and have been working ever since. I started working so that I could buy myself a car since my parents basically told me that if I didn't get my own, I didn't get one at all.
