If something was wrong the doctor would have said something. The grandparents always seem to know more than the parents or doctors. But don't worry. If it really bothers you just ask the doctor about it. But I'm sure everything is fine since the doctor didn't say anything on her last check.

sorry, i hope everything is ok with your baby. but these are some facts i got after a web search about yor matter...

The fontanelles should feel firm and very slightly concave to the touch. A noticeably sunken fontanelle is a sign that the infant does not have enough fluid in his or her body.

Fontanelle facts and fallacies:
* That they are delicate and can't be touched. Actually, the membrane underlying the "soft spot" is pretty tough.
* The soft spot can "fall" and become somehow stuck. No, if the baby is healthy and not dehydrated, the fontanelle will indeed sink into the head a bit when the baby is upright since blood is not filling the central vein underneath it as fully. No big deal. If it bothers you, just lay the baby back in the horizontal position - voila - the fontanelle is full again.
* A sunken fontanelle can be a sign of serious dehydration in a child known to be ill with fever, vomitng and diarrhea - gastroenteritis. Sunken eyes, dry mouth, and decreased or absent tears would likewise be noticible.
* A bulging fontanelle could be benign intracranial hypertension (pseudotumor cerebri) or a sign of meningitis.

Q: Today I noticed that my 3½-week-old’s soft spot is sunken in. I called my paediatrician and she said not to worry unless my son was fussier than normal or was running a fever. Should I be concerned?
A: If your baby is happy and feeding well, you needn’t go to the paediatrician. I would just put it on your list of questions for the next regular visit. Often when babies are held upright, the fontanelle is slightly depressed.
The soft spot, or fontanelle, is the space between four of the growing head bones. It is open (along with one at the back of the head) to allow for some flexibility of the head during birth and, very importantly, to allow for brain growth during your baby’s first years.
The soft spot gives us information on the state of your baby’s brain. For example, if it’s bulging all the time, you’ll want to discuss this with his doctor because it could indicate your baby’s brain is growing too fast. When he is sick — especially with vomiting and diarrhea — and the fontanelle is sunken, that’s a clue your baby may be dehydrated.

If the baby has had the runs, than she could be dehydrated. the soft spot can be ok one day sunk in the next so call the doctor this is very dangerous call now they will tell you. good luck and don’t take a chance with your babies life call the doc now don’t Waite
I know because my mom had that problem with me when I was a baby she thought it wasn’t bad and she didn’t have insurance or much money till my grandma told her to take me to the doctors she said she would pay for it, but when she got there the doc took one look at me and said get that baby to the ER now they told her I was dehydrated and if she didn’t come when she did I would have been dead with in the next few hours so that why I say go now

the baby's soft spot is suppose to be a lil sunken in because the bones from the babies brain have not fused together yet not in that area anyway.. but if U R worried then take the baby to the pediatrician...

I had the exact same problem with my 3 month old the doctor told me to give him more fluid he could be a little dehydrated. If you have any concern especially if you a first time mum don't be afraid to ask your doctor. Its better to look silly because you asked than to look silly because you didn't
