Favre doesnt need to break anymore records. He already is the best QB to ever play. Manning no way cant rank him over Tom brady.

The answer would be NO, NO a thousand times NO!!!!
Brett Favre was a great QB, but his time has come and gone. If any QB hangs around for 50 years, they should break career records.
It is hard to compare QBs from different generations to say who was better, because the conditions of the game have changed. Now-a-days, you can't look at QB without getting a 15-yard penalty, but in the past, QBs were thought of as football players (imagine that) where they could get hit by defenders.
And even if Favre breaks the records this year or next....those records will only stand until Peyton Manning breaks them in a few years.

The answer is no, Brett Farve shouldn't be considered as the best of all time, but at least should be mentioned for his hardwork, dedication and preparation in his everlasting career. And the reason I say this is because, RECORDS AREN'T EVERYTHING, as others have mentioned. If you ever noticed when people have talked about the Greatest QBs of All-Time, Dan Marino's name doesn't actually come out as first in many conversations. Personally, people should not look at a QB for his big-arm or his passing yardage, because a lot of greats didn't have that big of an arm. You hear the likes of Tom Brady, Troy Aikman, Terry Bradshaw, and Joe Montana, which is the Greatest QB of All-Time and he didn't have a cannon for an arm. Plus he made his teammates better around him, by his leadership and awareness on and off the field and he won 4 SUPERBOWLS.

Best ever? (probably not)
Most durable? (probably)
I judge a QB by championships won and performance in winning those championship games. After all, isn't that every QB's stated goal at the beginning of every season...to win the Super Bowl?
On that basis, there's none better than Joe Montana:
W/L: 4-0 / 11-TD's / 0-INT's / Avg. Rating: 122.5
Not too far behind is Terry Bradshaw:
W/L: 4-0 / 9-TD's / 4-INT's / Avg. Rating: 112.9
Brett Favre is an also-ran:
W/L: 1-1 / 5-TD's / 1-INT / Avg. Rating: 99.5
And Marino? He's 0-1 in the big game.
I'm sticking with Montana (at least until we see where Brady and Manning end up a few more years down the road).

No, for 2 reasons. Joe Montana holds very few records these days (alot of his records were actually beaten by Steve Young ironically) and Joe Montana is seen as one of the best QBs, not for his records, but his ability to win
2ndly, Peyton Manning has thrown for more yards at this point of his carrer than Favre did at Favre's 9th year of the NFL, so Manning is most likely going to break both the career TD record and yardage record in a couple of years, and people know this, and people will keep brining up that Manning has a good shot to break all these records, so when favre breaks these records, it will probably be overshadowed by the fact that Manning has a great shot at beating Favre's records, and most likely in a quicker time frame
by Favre's 9th year: 34706 yards
by Manning's 9th year:37586
by Faver's 9th year: 235
by Mainning's 9th year: 275
Favre will be considered the most durable QB Ever however, ad the face of the Packers franchise for years to come

Those two stats are important, but they arent the final determinant of who is the Greatest. It helps Favre's case to surpass Marino in those categories, but not as much as another Super Bowl ring.
All told, Favre has a lot going for his legacy. 2 SB appearances, the most incredible Iron Man Streak in NFL history, and prolific records. He has a ring and 3 consecutive MVP awards.
Furthermore, in his prime, Favre stands alongside Elway as the greatest forces to play the position, as both had the cannon arms, good footspeed and never-say-die will to win games virtually by themselves.
What holds Favre back is too many poor decisions and too few memorable postseason performances. Too many times the Packers have been bounced from the first round of the playoffs without Favre unveiling some magic.
Favre is a sure top-5 QB, along with Montana, Elway, Unitas and Marino. Brady and Manning may both become top-5 guys when all is done.
But Favre can't lay claim to the greatest. Montana can. Elway can, but Favre simply has not been quite clutch enough in big games over the years.

Well, all I got to say is YES! (THAT'S JUST ME) BUT Even though if he did not come back well he would be the best, but to be the best ever there are still a few out there that I think are tied with him, but only a FEW! Think about it, while a lot of teams through out the years changed QB's, Brett Favre proved his time there. He put the ball where it needed to be, he changed the face of the game on how a QB should play football. Favre has done the unthinkable. While a lot of non Packer Fans would say no all I got to say to them is that How many times has Favre Beaten your team? How many players on your team has more then 3 MVP's? Well anyway, yes there were other QB's so would I say the best ever, yes but first and still I tie him with the other best ever's that as well played the game.

To the person above me, what do you mean by "records aren't everything?" Are you saying that Trent Dilfer and Big Ben are better than Dan Marino? Records do mean a lot. Joe Montana might have 4 rings, but what happened to his career when he left the 49ers and started to play for the Chiefs? did he actually lead the Chiefs to the Super Bowl?
Brett Favre is a HOF QB, but I wouldn't consider him as the best QB ever. Based on numbers, Dan Marino is the best QB ever, then John Elway. Even if Brady wins another SB, can you even say that he's better than Elway or Joe Montana? not me.

having the records does not make an athlete the best ever. sometimes it means that he has played more years and hung around long enough to break the records. other athletes careers were cut short by injuries and were not able to play as long as they would have desired. others like Jim Brown retired at the top of his game as did Sandy Koufax. had Jim Brown played as long as Emmit Smith he would have the rushing record. had Koufax played as long as Nolan Ryan no doubt he would have the strikeout record. i could go on and on about other athletes in various sports, these two were just examples. in summary having the records does not make you the best ever, the impact you had on the game, the quality of play during the seasons that you competed and how much better you made your team should all be factored in the equation

Ummm that is totally feasible. He has one hell of a receiving team nevertheless, even without Walker. motive force is insanely good and that Greg Jennings is coming alongside top. Then each and every physique else like Franks, Ferguson, and eco-friendly would be waiting to get him alongside. He has an outstanding probability of breaking it this season by way of time table...worry-free...yet he could additionally destroy the interception checklist because of the fact he would be passing lots this season with the run game no longer working ok yet.
