So many are about a drunk remembering his daddy, his mama, his dawg, his pick-up truck.

The good ones don't make you cry. For example, Peeking through the knothole in grandma's wooden leg, You're the reason our kids are ugly, or I knew our love was over when you dropped me down the well.

There is alot of pain in this world. Everyday is a pain in one way or another. Death, divorce, war, drinking too much, having to be apart from loved ones for a spell, you name it.
Country music is all about everyday people and everyday life. Country music singers sing about what we're feeling inside.
Misery loves company.
On the upswing, they sing about new loves, little babies, family life, you name it. All this is why we call it Country.
