I totally agree with Adam and Milkbone. Eagle is a really hard honor to obtain. It shows that you have dedication and people look for honors like that on resumes. I know I always liked seeing it when I was on selection committees.
Besides, most kids get enrolled in scouts way before they're even old enough to be aware of the BSA's policies toward gay people. If I saw that organization on a person's resume I wouldn't automatically assume that they were anti-gay. In fact it wouldn't even cross my mind, unless they list some other organizations where they actively participated in anti-gay activities.
So list it, and be proud of your accomplishments! :)

Daniel..... That's a tough one. I am also an Eagle Scout and I'm gay. When I was first aware of their (BSA) standing regarding homosexuals I seriously considered mailing my badge and pin back to the headquarters in protest. As I look back, Scouting was good to me and I worked hard for that rank, it was before the whole gay issue was addressed. I am proud to say that I am an Eagle Scout, I am also very vocal in my opinion of how closed minded they are. You earned it, be proud of yourself.

yes, you worked hard to get that honor. I'm not proud I worked in fast food, I hate the crap I served, but it was time I spent in the work force and I will put it on a resume if needed.

If you're ashamed and cannot speak proudly of it, do not list it on your resume

Sure. It's yours, you use it, regardless. Eagle is a hard thing to do and it shows dedication. You've earned it, don't discard it.

If you're ashamed of them, it's best not to put them down. You don't want to get a boss who thinks you agree with these policies.
