After our President drew the fascist line "you're either with us or you're against us," any who disagree are labeled anti-American, sympathetic to terrorists ( now even Republicans like John Warner! ), and probably even traitors. The liberal media disappeared in the seventies with the rapid ownership of all large media by international corporations. National TV is now the mouthpiece of the powerful few, and does not enjoy dissent from the corporate vision. Anyone who does not agree that "Corporate America" and Big Oil should take over the Middle East as an intelligent expression of American Foreign Policy should expect, and will receive the wrath of these powerful men.

Because the war hawks don't care about national debate or opinion. They will do what ever it takes; slander, lies and propaganda, to keep the war machine running at full speed. The medias problem is that they allow them to get away with it.

Anyone who can succinctly and logically explain their reasons for being against our involvement in Iraq is not going to get beat down for having a different opinion.

HOWEVER, from my experience most people do not have logical reasons for why they disagree with the war.

People who disagree either have:

- personal grudges against President Bush and so they automatically disagree with any of his policies

- a political/religious agenda that makes them oppose anything that does not further their agenda

- or these people are not educated enough about the subject of teh war. When you ask them why they are agaisnt it, they come back with emotional responses or worse, no response.

All of these reasons are not a basis for disagreeing with our troops in Iraq. If people cannot form a coherent reason for being against something, their ignorance should be shown.

The Government has gone crazy I think. Why are all of our rights being taken away? It seems that it isn't cool to stand up and fight anymore without our freedom of speech being threathened. Is everything in our lives now based on national security, it all sounds fishy to me.

Censorship and desperate name calling is what the Republicans, whether corporate news media, or private Citizens, are famous for, besides Ronald (I don't recall) Reagan and Richard (I am not a crook) Nixon.

Nothing wrong with disagreeing over the Iraq war. But many don't even support our troops.

For example? What was said in criticism & what was said to "slander" them? Telling the truth about someone isn't slander. Criticizing someone isn't slander (depending on how it is done). With out specific examples, I can only assume that you are making all this up.
