Just as soon as the divorce is final. Sometimes this takes as long as a year sometimes not. Sounds like you had a little something going on the side while you were married. She/he is getting a real gem.

There is no law regarding such. It'sa personal choice. But usually after one divorces, they're not ready to jump into another relationship too quickly. One should enjoy their newfound freedom and independence. But some travel the same worn road much too quickly.

I am not sure in the USA, but if you want to do it right and if you have custody of your kids, you may want to wait until your kids are all grown up and out of the home. Then you can date or get married.

Why I say this? Because if you have kid involved, you don't want to bring another woman/man in your life because they have gone through so much drama already.

I got married 4 months after my divorce. I thnk you just have to wait until the final papers are signed, sealed and delivered and then you can.

Long enough to be able to live with yourself and be happy with yourself and your life. Get your own house in order before you are ready to bring in a partner. You cannot expect to be able to live with someone else until you can live with yourself. A life partner should not be a need; it should be a desire.
