The best you can do is set the tank up for SA cichlid style. Regretfully, blood parrots are man made fish crossing 2 SA cichlids. If anyone tells you "how" to take care of them, they would be giving you somewhat "false" info at best.Best bet is to treat as a south american cichlid in general and leave it at that. Good tank maintenence and a good staple food go a long way.
