I think people like firemen and policeman that do their jobs can't be called heroes when they die or save someones life in the line of duty. But then of course if they do something wonderful on their day off...

I don't know if this will be four paragraphs long but it's the best answer i can come up with.....
A hero is someone who cares so much about others that he'd rather take any pain or hurt then letting others go threw it.He or she would be Honorable, truth-full, sensitive and an all around nice guy who has no prejudice what so ever.
A hero is someone who does good cause it feels good. A hero wont want recognition or a payback. A hero wants nothing back for doing the nice things he does. A hero is a great person cause they don't think there great, they dint want to be recognized.
All a real hero wants is to blend in with the world around him and just know in his heart that his kindness will rub off on the people around him. Unfortunately there has yet never been a real person that I've herd of being a hero, maybe because he blended to well or maybe there's no such thing as a hero but just the hope for one.
Hope that answers your question...

Why 4 paragraphs, when it only takes one sentence.
A hero is somebody who is better than myself, that I can look up to for guidance in times of despair.
-Add stuff to create 4 paragraphs here-

My children don't have to look for a hero in the television or in a sports arena or in the music they listen to, all they have to do is look at who their father was when he was alive.
He was a man who lived life to the fullest, he was able to forgive anyone and anything, he never hid from life's adversities and meet them head on. He fought his cancer with everything he had and lived his life the same way.
What makes a hero small things, who can be hero's anyone.

To me a hero is somebody, real or fiction, who you admire or maybe even idolise. Somebody who can do things you wish you could do, but you believe you can't do. It's somebody who overcomes great obstacles and prevails at the end.
I hope that this helps.

Someone you respect and admire. You would respect them because they also respect you. Their actions are admirable.
Someone who comes through for you or for others without even contemplating the effort.
Someone who has good intentions. They try to do the "right" thing.
Someone who has a strong character. By their very nature, they are easy to love.
