bart - Such as Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Laura Ingrams, and since the Iraq invasion, Bill O'Reily. Hannity being the most pompous when disagreening with someone.

Because they are trying to defend that which cannot be defended without lies, abuse and showboating.
Look at Rush Limbaugh - blasting the drug addicts and promoting the war on drugs, meanwhile he's "doctor shopping" for more presciption meds. What a hypocrite.
Look at Bill O'Reilly - he's so full of hot air...but Al Franken took him down a few loofas. The no-spin zone, give me a break, it's the stressed-out-whacko zone.
Look at Hannity, the guy can't stop lying. He still believes there are WMD (never to the extent we were lied), he still thinks Hussein was in bed with Al-Qaida (try reading the 9-11 report), Atta list goes on.
Who's next Anne Coulter, oh boy. Dennis Miller? bet on the wrong horse buddy.
They can't defend the facts: still bin Laden not caught, from surpluses to deficits, from lying to the people (anyone heard the speech of Powell stating Hussein was no longer a threat - in 2001 !) from mis-managed war, from Katrina to Halliburton to Shell. The people are getting screwed and can only be lied to for so long.

The liberal types are pompous too. Al Franken, Dan Rather, Lou Dobbs, Anderson Cooper, Wolf blitzer, Chris Mathews, Kieth Olberman are all pompous jackasses. It goes both ways.

Because they are playing to their audience if they changed their stance or admitted they were wrong their shows would fall apart.
Bill O'Reily gets a bad rap but I kinda like the guy.there are idiots on both sides .The problem is that so many people take everything they say so seriously.

The word neo means new so Im assuming you mean new talk hosts. The only pompous one I know of is Rosie O Donnell but I wouldnt call her a new talk host. Shes old news.

neo means new. Are you talking about the New left leaning radio channel Air-America. They had one of the Baldwin's on it. This radio programming is new.... Hold on they went out of business already. They could not keep up with Rush, Hannity, and O'Rielly

in my opinion, every single talk show host is phony and pompous...that's exactly why they are talk show hosts. they were hired because of those exact qualifications.

Because they know they are lying and are trying to be convincing. Limbaugh and O'Reilly are so full of hot air they are blimps.
