Yes i have been to Utah in fact i live in Utah. I really like there is so much things that you can do here. I think that the state of pretty you can go down to southern Utah and look at the red rocks. In fact there have been several movies filmed there. In Northern Utah looking at the snow on the mountains is pretty also. There are a lot of friendly people here. Utah i would say is a unique state. I enjoy Utah very much and i have heard when others move away and then move back for some reasons they have stated that they have missed Utah so much. Here website i would like for you and others to check it out about the state http://www.utah.com/ Hope that you have a great day and get a chance to visit Utah some time.

I visited Utah many times as a child and currently live in Utah. Like anyplace, there are pluses and minuses, depending upon what your perspective.

It's a state with outstanding natural beauty - the stark, red rock deserts, mountains, rivers. If you love the outdoors, it's a great place to be. Skiing, snowboarding and snowmobiling in winter and hiking, boating, fishing, biking in summer. The majority of the population is Mormon, however, those demographics are changing. The state is still quite conservative politically, but even that is changing, especially around Salt Lake City and Park City. There are some quirky alcohol laws, but they are more relaxed than they used to be and not all that different from the southern states in the "Bible belt."

PROS:
Beautiful scenery, not too expensive to buy a house (but starting to go up), low crime rate, 3/4 of the year has sunny days (even if it is cold), people who look out for each other - strong sense of community, youthful population, outdoor activities, clean cities.

CONS:
If you're not Mormon, it can be a challenge to make close friends. But bear in mind, where we live, the population is like 85% Mormon. Salt Lake and Park City is more 50/50 or less. Our Mormon neighbors and colleagues have been very, very kind to us. But it can be difficult to be more than that because we have different interests/backgrounds. Although the ethnic mix is changing, I miss the cultural and political diversity of California.

All in all, I think there are more pros than cons. But the cons only are really a factor for people planning to move here. I think Utah is definitely a wonderful place to visit for anyone.

I have driven across Utah a few times and once spent a few hours in Salt Lake city having a water pump replaced on a vehicle. Mostly what saw was miles and miles of miles. Mostly desert-but does have a stark beauty. I just like big trees and lots of green. I know there are some mountian resorts for skiing which must be beautiful during the summer as well, but haven't really seen them.

I have been there. The geology is astounding. The people are nice.

If you are ever involved in a horrendous natural disaster, you want to be in a city in Utah, where people take care of themselves and each other. They rely on their faith and hard work rather than on the "State."

I would raise my kids there, and I am a Goldwater Conservative and a staunch secular humanist. Mormons are cool. Less pushy than Marxists, and far more healthy.

Been there many times. My best friend lives there, so do many of my family members. It's beautiful! I'd love to live there, but cannot afford to leave where I am right now.

Some of the scenery is pretty but the alcohol is watered down and people are way too preachy.
