If you want to be alone, do you feel free to say no to an invitation and make yourself your top priority? Would you despite your needs to please someone? How do you deal with it?

No, when I want to be alone I can be alone, which is good because then I can spend time getting to know myself better so that I can function better in group settings

I have not been doing well at making myself a priority. Wierd that you ask this question caus eI was thinking of asking one similar.

I am in a relationship (4 years) we live in different cities and it seems this has taken an immense emtional toll on me and not my partner. So I'm in a bit of a dilemma. I don't know what to do.

To answer your question I am always telling people no when I get invitations and I feel horrible about that. I know I should force myself to get out there and be social. In your case it sounds like maybe you want the ability to say no. It's really easy. Just tell whoever invites that your not feeling well. Let me warn you though. It hurts when the invitations start to become less and less because people already know your going to say no.

GL!

Much better - it's beeb a rough winter since my mom in law got truly ill and then died. But I make time for myself, and am finally getting my business back up and running.

I've said no to a few things, I even stayed home from work when I was ready to hurt people instead of help them.

It's all getting easier and back to normal again.

Life's too short to care about how other people feel. Let alone pleasing someone! GET REAL! I don't give a damn to whoever think they more superior or very important person. I don't have to bow head or kiss their feet to make them happy. I hate people who take themselves far more important than others.

To be honest, when I want to be alone I AM, the problem is, when I want to back to people , doesnt happen quickly, :) do you know what I mean?
and its ok
Try to be nice with people , so you friends don't feel left too, when maybe they need you and YOu dont want to be with them cause you want to be alone, try to find a balance.
BE with them when you think they need you, and be alone when you think you really need to, too.
take care

I'm doing pretty good. If I don't want to be bothered I have no problem saying no.
