well if you are driving, then you cant pump fake
but heres wut I do, Im 17 and 6'2" playing in a league with most people being around 6'7" or taller....just drive and dish to a teammate, if you are that small I garuntee that big men are going to want to block you, so drive and wait for them to commit, then feed the ball to your big man for an easy layup/dunk...this way your team still gets points and you get ur assists and help your squad git the W
But if you are selfish and want to score for yourself, watch Tony Parker play, he has a deadly floater/tear drop; that he uses against much taller opponents and helps him score bout 17 a game, practice a floater and utilize it in a game

Work on a quick release shot where you time your release on your drive to the basket at an earlier time than you normally would. Usually a pullup layup (a jumper from close range) or a scoop shot are the most preferred when using the quick release. This variation of your layup will throw the defenders timing off allowing you to get your shot off more times than not because the defender is timing your drive to the basket to be all the way to the basket for a layup. You see Steve Nash use this technique on bigger defenders in the NBA.

i was and kind of still in your shoes kiddo.but my older brothers would not let me even get the ball without coming after me. so first learn to dribble good. then learn to shoot away from them so they have to guard you close.now learn to drive to the hoop strong in one way or both hands. and for the hard part. when you drive they can time your steps and swat as you come up with the ball. drive fast and when you start to grab the ball to go up, take long steps and fake the ball and then go up.blocking is all about timing, so quickly put it up or fake while you are taking your step. by the time you jump they will have committed to your fake and you may get more shots up......but you will get hit more and get fouled a lot more. drive straight at them then do this and it will help you out .trust me.

protect the ball with your body like tony parker does. he jumps into the defender and puts the ball in his off hand so the defender has to reach all the way across his body to block it. it sounds strange but the best way to prevent shot blocks is to attack them directly. you can also learn a floater for when your body gets tired of getting hit

i suggest not driving to the basket so much. develop your outside shot. get really good at mid-range and long-range jumpshots. but when you do drive to the basket, do try putting more arc on your shot. i'm not that short (5'10") but i am really good at arc on my shots and very rarely get blocked.

yea i was going to suggest trying a pump fake. get the defender in the air and sidestep and shoot. and since your height is a factor maybe you should consider being a passer. drive inside and kick out to a teammate.

the way to get past blockers and that is with speed and agility. Try jump shooting or when you jump in the air try switching hands and have the defense off guard
