Other Asians undergo eye-widening operations?

(obviously, this goes out to Asian readers)

I'm not Asian myself, but I'd heard of this being done on more than 1 occasion. I found it sad, mainly b/c I saw it as a rejection of themselves & when I see many of the women, I think their natural eye shape is GORGEOUS!

Just curious...

im asian
and i do feel terrible and sad if women undergo eye widening operations
why couldnt they just love themselves and be proud of their race

im proud to be half chinese and half filipino
and would never undergo operations just to look like western women

we are beautiful
each race has their beauty
i dont believe that they should reject themselves , their culture and belief in exchange of others

even filipinos suffer a lot, and have a lot of setbacks in our economy cause many filipinos want to become american, when its great being a filipino, if they only believe it

Some people undergo this procedure because of cosmetic reasons of course...maybe they feel that they would fit in more comfortably but others actually have it performed because they cant put their contacts in their eyes. I have a friend who just did it for that reason and that reason only. Good Question!

i'm sure depends on the asian.

I'm all for em keeping their nice eyes too.

Generally i think plasic surgery is gr8 mfor burn victims but most people should not cut themselves wheatever their race.

I'm not asian either, although many of my friends are. Most of them are not fantasing about changing their eyes, ... Still some do.

*LOL* i don't...many of my friends encourage me to do so, because i have single eyelids...well, i count my blessings because although i have small eyes, i have perfect eyesight. and basically, there's nothing wrong with me!
i know some of my friends have gone under the knife to look 'better'...

i feel that to undergo surgery for such procedures should have legitaimate purposes, like physical defects.

I'm not Asian, but I agree. They look beautiful the way they are. No need to change.
