You can never tell with the NHL anymore. It has a lot to do about when a team hits its peak. The Oilers, Calgary, Carolina, San Jose, Anaheim and Tampa all put together great season ending drives to climb into the playoffs the past couple of years. Then had playoff successes that not many had predicted.
Teams that have finished near the top of the standings have seemed to be fizzling out early in the playoffs recently as well.
So, Solely on a whim. I'll pick a Pittsburgh - Minnesota final.

Having just coming back form the Devils 2-Islanders 0 I believe it will be Devils and I hope Detroit. That was our sweep in 95-65, but was the 40 game season, which people called a fluke. The fact the Devils lost the next yr not making the playoff by half a point (a Devils win or tampon Bay lose ) would have gotten us in, I do hope we can play the Red Winds and sweep them again...as long as we don';t have to play the rangers hahhahhahaha in the first rd like last yr. Think the Devils got confused and after sweeping them, forgot about the cup!
GO DEVILS!
PS parking is now 12.00 bucks and the arena had less then 10,000 people, 17,000 against the Rangers. those were hard to come by a couple of yrs ago. Prices up, Beer is 8.50! hot dog 5.00! attendance at an all time low all over hockey, was it worth the strike, I think not
Oh De Piero was impressive, hope he lasts 25 yrs..risky venture there.

Just give my (mightier than ever) Ducks the cup now!! Why is the league wasting time and risking injury to it's players when we all know that 2007 is Anaheim's year? Niedermayer, Pronger, Selanne, c'mon it's not ever fair! Now that they're healthy again, look for the Ducks to tear up the western conference en route to the finals where they'll undoubtedly steam roll Buffalo, Ottawa, N.J. whoever! It doesn't even matter. If the Ducks are healthy, no one beats them four of seven times! Nuff'said!

As i'm a leafs fan i do no longer think of they'll win it, the group i think of has superb potential to win is Anaheim. From the east i think of New Jersey could desire to be the right canines. It sounds like a rematch with Anaheim taking lord stanley's mug.

Most hockey pundits are picking the Ducks to win it all.
But I think there's a sleeper team somewhere in the west that could take the Ducks out. Flames, Canucks, Nashville, all have good teams.
The East has the Devils and Tampa, two teams that may sneak up on the favourite Sabres.
Can't say, but I'll throw in San Jose vs Sabres. San Jose wins.

Sabres vs Anaheim. Sabres in 4, sweeping for my home team.. and I'll be there. Anaheim = mad good defenseman, veterans, Pronger, Neidermayer, Getzlaf, so many good players, and Giguere. Sabres are a lot faster, and a lot of depth.
