"Belief without proof" has been responsible for more death and destruction than any other cause in the world for millennia. Why anyone sane would take to it is beyond comprehension. Yet we all do it at one time or another. I guess we need to have some sort of hope that this life is not the "end" of existence, so we grab wnatever we can get away with. A common, or 'popular' religion is what most choose - we're flock animals after all - and others take on personal 'belief'. In the end it's your choice. I chose the Wicca. It's fun, benign, not readily accepted by the mob (which is a plus), and offers me something to do other than spread my genes everywhere, (which can be counter-productive if I get caught).

I prefer knowledge but even better than that is wisdom.
Faith is really an expression of a herd instinct where I will believe something because the rest of the herd do. Nobody in the herd knows really why they believe what they believe, only that they do believe. No matter how strong the belief in something it cannot make something true which is false. Acting on the basis of potentially false information is dangerous. As humans we carry a certain amount of expectation that things will remain unchanged so that if the roof did not collapse yesterday we do not expect it to collapse today. This expectation is also a form of faith but no matter how strong it isn't going to guarantee that the roof will not collapse today.
Knowledge is safer because if something is known to be true then acting on that information means that any errors are as a result of your decision making rather than faulty data.
Wisdom is better because only with wisdom can we differentiate between what we believe and what we know and exercise good judgment in applying that information.

faith and knowledge are the same thing! The problem is most poeple get knowledge mixed up w/ understanding. There is a problem w/ understanding, the more you understand the more responsibility you have about worrying if you have the right understanding or not! faith is make real by the knowledge you have; however the understanding you poses tells you whether or not your knowledge/faith is true; but it also limits you on the faith you can have based on you will expect everything to run by certain rules and you intuition will cease to exist

Go with your gut feeling on this one.
I was raised in a very religious environment but was not happy because something was not right. I didn't have faith. And I could not openly articulate or discuss my questions about faith. As I grew, I dove headfirst into my education especially cool, solid math and science. I did not find what I was looking for.
Eventually, I fond myself attracted to the supper natural. I fond most of those things are natural events seen in a different light that confuse people and people making more out of nothing. There are things that cannot be explained. However the most convincing to me is how thing fit together so well. Yes I know there are so many things horribly wrong with the world. Yet once I understood what things are and how they work, I saw a peek of something amazing.
It took a long time for me to realize that there was more that what we can see with our mortal eyes. Once I came to terms with that my spirituality brought me back to my faith.
I still do not agree with everything my religion preaches and can wholeheartedly argue for hours on many subjects but I do have faith.
Today I am blessed with both knowledge and faint. Like Thomas I had to see to believe. It may be the longest and the most dangerous road to god but no one ever said you couldn't have both or in which order you can have them in.

Knowledge is proof? I must digress. Knowledge is something you learn in a book or through experience. Nothing is constant. You have faith that what you are reading is true. I would take faith any day of the week. It is very freeing to let yourself go to something or someone than to try and figure things out for yourself (whcih never works out, you'll just drive yourself crazy).

Can you prove that your car tires will not fall off on the highway? A certain amount of faith allows us to leave the house. There is no either/or faith or knowledge. No one has time to research every single claim, thus faith in varying degrees is part of all our lives. But perhaps you speak of religious faith, in which case I would choose knowledge, empirical data.

1. Faith is related to inner world of life where as knowledge is related to outer world of life .
2. Blind faith is weak , but haiving some power to satblize your mind and inner peace/stability where as real faith is based on own experience/proof and having strong power and can be acheived by throwing out the blind faith and applying certain meditation technique.
3. Knowledge is also mostly blind and having power to live in society in better way.
4.Do not compare blind faith and knowledge with one yard stick, because both have different function in life as stated above.

Proof is hard to by. In most cases we are taking sides with what we think is probable. We must have faith in just about everything we want to happen because we live in an intrinsically uncertain world.
Please do me a favor, just don't demand others to share your faith.

Faith is to believe what we do not see; and the reward of this faith is to see what we believe.
