It is possible and is bound to happen eventually.
On 24 April 1994 David Robinson scored 71 points against the Clippers who only won 27 games that season. That was the last game of the season and he needed a big score to beat Shaq to the scoring title.
He played 44 minutes, hit 26/41 field goals,1 3 pointer and 18/25 free throws (and had 5 assists....)
His next highest score of his career was only 52 and some people have suggested that everyone made it easy for him that night because he was such a nice guy.
In similar circumstances there are lots of players that have the talent to get to 100 but are they liked enough for everyone to let it happen?

Depends in if you're talking about single game, or career. For both stats, I'd have to say that the stats that probably will never be beat lie both in baseball. However, I feel that Chamberlain's record 55 rebounds in a game is probably just as impressive as his 100 point game. In baseball, the career mark that will never, ever be broken above all else will be Cy Young's 511 wins. There's no way that will ever be touched. If a pitcher won 25 games for 20 seasons in a row, he'd still be 11 short of Cy. As for single season records, the 56 game hitting streak by Dimaggio will probably never be broken. Willie Keeler and Pete Rose both got to 44. Willie Keeler played mostly before the turn of the 20th century, and when Rose got to 44 in 1980 I believe, it was a huge, huge deal. But no one will ever beat Dimaggio's 56 game hitting streak.

Well, Kobe did have 81, but not 100. The odds of the 100-point being broken are 1,000,000 to 1

I doubt that this record will be broken. Today in the league you will be placed in a bad can for taking as many shots as needed to get 100. Kobe is the closest person to reaching this milestone. I think that records are made to be broken, but this is one that may stand in this league. if it is to be broken the person who breaks it has to be a great freethrow shooter. Players in the league wouldnt stand for someone to get 100 not without the whole team fouling out. this person has to also has to be on fire this night. but I dont see it happening, but would love to be around to see it happen

I doubt it very seriously, but Kobe did get to 81. Even though in today's game their are so many more superstars playing that one player doesn't have to shoulder the scoring load for an entirety of a game. Wilt was one the last players that had that responsibility and it just happened that he was a great player and that will more than likely never happen again with the vast talent resources we have.

unfortunatly no it will not happen at least in our generation wilt had the 100 point game because he was so much taller and stronger than his competetors and he was one of the best ever. The games now teams average just over 100 points a game kobes game was close but the field goal percentages players shoot now is about 39 percent a game wilt averaged 60 perecnt in that game.

no, because wilt played in an era when the emphasis was on scoring and teams played little in the way of defense compared to how they play now. also, because of his unusually large size and lack of other big men in the leauge to guard him at the time, it was much easier for him to score, compared with what players now have to deal with.
considering that today entire teams avg around 100, it would be even more difficult for a single player to achieve 100points on their own.
