Too cluttered and confusing to navigate thru for anyone who's never been to the site or heard of it. The layout is is too together. It's hard to tell which is the main focus on the page. Just keeping it simple works best

Um, did you do this? Sorry but it was confusing and totally unreadable. All the blinking and moving stuff makes it impossible to focus on the content. Even if it weren't for that, the page has no flow that helps direct the eye to important information. I spent a couple of annoying minutes looking at it and still have no idea what the page was supposed to be about.

It isn't BAD design...

The site is confusing looking. You have something animated, some video, and other more natural looking components. The arms on the animated lady don't move fast enough, so you are confused as to where you are going to go if you actually click the mouse.

I would simplify the site. Try to stick to one theme and style through the site.

as a designer my proffesional opinion is the following:
assuming you did it
the layout is suitable for a news website yet the subjects published in the web is something not a large amount of people cares for so you should make more tempting to be opened and read,
the charachter here is not comming in handy,a girl?something should replace her, an endangered animal maybe.

all in all it is not tempting to read or browse, and webpage designs should be more eyecatchy.

contents are good though the designs and undesired components aren't especially the advertisements popping around.
the character doesn't match the overall look.

You are joking, right? It is so random! Nothing is related to anything else. I almost had a seizure looking at the blinking images.
