There can always be factors which can delay your refund so there really isn't a maximum. Assuming that everything is okay, you could probably expect your refund in about 8 days (if you opted for direct deposit - mail obviously takes longer). I've e-filed the last 3 years and it's been 8 days each time. Btw, Netfile is open for business starting Monday, February 12th.

The state usually takes 4-5 bussiness days and federal depends when you EF. If you EF recently you should be getting a refund by the 16th of Feb. That is if you Direct deposited the refund into your bank account.

Federal goes in cycles. How did you opt to receive your refund? If it's through the mail from the IRS, you're looking at 3-4 weeks. Direct deposit from the IRS, 8-15 days.
If you opted for a bank product (Rapid refund), then you should get it according to whichever option you chose.

States work differently too. In PA a check in the mail takes about 2 months. A state direct deposit, 3-5 weeks.

There isn't really a maximum. If you haven't paid old taxes or if there is problem or question about your return, the IRS will not send a refund until those problems are resolved. It also depends on if you request a direct deposit refund or paper check. Checks are usually printed in large batches on prescheduled dates, while direct deposits can come as quickly as a week after filing.

The maximum is 3 weeks per the IRS - www.irs.gov You can go on their website and to the left click where is my refund and it will let you know the status.
