you can drink at 18 (most do anyway) but you can't vote until you're 21. Most 18 year olds aren't smart or responsible enough to vote these days. Not saying all kids are bad and dumb, but allot are.

Where do you live?

In the US, 18 is the legal voting age (by Federal Law). In most states, 21 is the minimum drinking age.

I'm an older guy. I was 18 during the Viet Nam conflict (nice clean phrase, huh?) and they were both 18.

At that time the draft was in effect. If you could be drafted (enlist now) and sent to die for your country, why shouldn't you have the right to vote and drink?

I drank at 18, but responsibly.

Bet you didn't expect to hear that from someone my age.

I think they are fine because there are a few teens who really want to be able to vote and I think it would suck if they would have to wait until they are 21. Also I think we should keep the drinking age at 21 because there has been studies that link underage drinking to stunted growth and lack of developmental in areas that may not be developed at 18. I think this was most apparent in guys since they don't finish maturing until they are 21.

Canada has voting at 18, and Ontario has drinking at 19, which I think works fine. I think the provinces have different drinking ages.
